eDetailers – two different ways of implementation
Two approaches to implement an eDetailer
The answer is simple: Yes, because there are basically two ways to technically implement an eDetailer. One way is fast and inexpensive due to the low effort involved, the other way is much more complex, requires more time and costs more. Both approaches result in an eDetailer that can be uploaded and used in CLM systems, but there are immense differences with bread-ranging effects.
In order to make an individually sensible and sustainable decision on which of the two basic implementation options to use for an eDetailer, it is important to know the differences:

“The initial strategy behind a programmed eDetailer is particularly important for its consistent success.”
Converted eDetailer – the quick & easy way
For this technical implementation method, the starting point is a PowerPoint file (PPTX) or an Adobe PDF. Right from the start, this obviates the need for separate artwork, which can already save a great amount of time and costs.
The PPTX or PDF is then technically converted into an eDetailer using a converter tool. The code package can then be loaded into the CRM system and used as usual. Most of these converter tools require a few graphical and technical adjustments before the code package can be exported.
The converter module in RMH MEDIA SHOWCASE is the only converter tool that is completely geared towards so-called self-service, i.e. it does not require additional work. Instead, a number of supplementary, optional and intuitive additional functions are available:
For example, the creation of flows with the available slides, the generation of simple sitemaps and the integration of PDFs (e.g. studies, specialist information) or videos (e.g. MOA etc.). The main navigation can be selected, slide titles and key messages can be entered and Approved Email links can be stored for Veeva eDetailers. The final step is to export the code package using RMH MEDIA FLINX technology.
All slides in such eDetailers are static, i.e. without animations, individual interactions or dynamic functionalities, but can be used as eDetailers in the usual way.
The result is an eDetailer converted from PPTX or PDF with a few basic standard functions and in the standard tracking of the CRM system - implemented quickly, easily and cost-effectively.
This way of technical implementation is perfectly suited, for example, if a lot of technical information needs to be made available to the sales force quickly and cost-effectively as an eDetailer, if country versions with a small budget framework or small teams with a small budget are involved.
Programmed eDetailers – individualized top quality with added value
In this implementation variant, practically all possibilities of modern development technology are available, far beyond the basic possibilities of a converted eDetailer.
Particularly important for consistent success of a programmed eDetailer is also the initial strategy, a sophisticated, comprehensive conversation concept, excellent usability for the conversation situation as well as precise, target-oriented design of the individual slides on the basis of eDetailer best practices. Of course, we are happy to make our extensive expertise available in an advisory capacity on these points and accompany both the brand/product teams and digital/CRM managers as well as the creative agencies in the run-up to and during the entire implementation.
The starting point for programming is usually high-quality artwork in Adobe InDesign, which we transfer automatically into our individual programming using our self-developed, forward-looking FLINX technology.
Programmed eDetailers offer all possibilities of animation, target-oriented and inspiring user interaction, versatile features in combination with your CRM, dynamic flows for flexible conversation management, customer segmentation as well as linking of pre-approved mails and many more optional features.
RMH MEDIA is the only company that can integrate interactive high-end 3D content into eDetailers in a standardized way and with good performance. This enables extraordinary visual explanations and the presentation of complex contexts or processes with ease and enthusiasm in sales force conversations.
With customized programming, an eDetailer is a powerful instrument in closed-loop marketing and an elementary tool for the sales force.
